Ukraine to plant spring grains throughout 8.7 mln ha – N.Prysyazhnyuk
Ukrainian agrarians started storing seeds of spring crops for provision of the spring planting campaign, declared Nikolai Prysyazhnyuk, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, on December 12.
N.Prysyazhnyuk noted that Ukraine will plant spring grains and pulses throughout the areas of nearly 8.7 mln ha, an increase of 0.6 mln ha compared with the current year.
According to the Minister, the structure of planted areas can be expanded, in particular late crops areas will increase: maize - to 5.2 mln ha, and soybeans – to 1.5 mln ha.
