Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of the Crimea to deny from usage of Ukrainian fertilizers
Russian fertilizer producers will replace the Ukrainian suppliers on the Crimean market, declared Nikolai Polushkin, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of the Crimea, on April 3, 2014.
The Minister stated that CJSC Schyolkovo Agrochim is ready to open its representative office in the region, and cooperate with the Crimean operators, which are out of work.
According to N.Polushkin, a number of other Russian large-scale producers of fertilizers are interested in beginning of supplies to the Crimea.
The Head of regional Ministry mentioned that previously the agro-industrial sector traditionally purchased fertilizers from Ukraine, Russia and Uzbekistan.
N.Polushkin declared that to date the Ukrainian market already closed, and its fertilizers will be more expensive and non-competitive, due to the price growth for natural gas. Thus, compound and phosphorus-containing fertilizers for autumn field works will be mainly purchased from Russia.
The general requirement of fertilizers for the Crimean agrarians is estimated at 40-48 thsd tonnes of primary material (including 30-34 thsd tonnes of nitrogen). In 2014 there is planned to purchase additional 20 thsd tonnes of fertilizers to provide autumn field works. The fertilizers for spring field works were already purchased in full measure.
