As of April 7, Ukraine planted early spring crops throughout 2.482 mln ha
As of April 7, 2014, agrarians of Ukraine had already planted early spring grains and pulses throughout the areas of 2.482 mln ha, or 90% of the plan, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
In particular, barley planted areas reached 1.89 mln ha (89%), peas – 186 thsd ha (94%), wheat – 154 thsd ha (94%), oats – 242 thsd ha (96%).
At the same time, agricultural enterprises of Nikolayev, Odessa, Vinnitsa, Volyn, Chernihiv and Zakarpattia oblasts completed the planting campaign of early spring crops.
Also, agrarians planted sunflower seed throughout 503 thsd ha (12%), maize – 53 thsd ha (1%), soybeans – 7 thsd ha (from the planned areas of 1.616 mln ha).
