Russia planted spring crops throughout 1.9 mln ha
As of April 8, 2014, agrarians of Russia have already planted spring crops throughout the areas of 1.9 mln ha (3.6% of the forecast), an increase of 847.7 thsd ha compared with the same date of 2013. In particular, the planted areas of early grains totaled 1.3 mln ha (4.2% of the forecast), up 775.3 thsd ha compared with the same index of April 8, 2013, declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
It should be noted that the Southern Federal District already held the planting campaign throughout 5665.2 thsd ha (or 10.4% of the forecast), the North Caucasian Federal District - 320.7 thsd ha (19.7%), the Central Federal District - 776.5 thsd ha (8.2%), the Far Eastern Federal District – 24.7 thsd ha (1.7%), Kaliningrad oblast - 10.8 thsd ha (12.5%), the Crimea – 105.1 thsd ha (35.8%).
Agrarians continue planting sunflower seed in Krasnodar Krai, Kursk and Belgorod oblasts – 94.3 thsd ha (1.4%).
Kursk oblast planted spring rapeseed throughout 7.8 thsd ha (18.3% of the forecast).
