As of April 14, 2014 Russia planted spring crops throughout 3.1 mln ha
As of April 14, 2014 agrarians of Russia had already planted spring crops throughout the areas of 3.1 mln ha (5.9% of the forecast), up 1 mln ha compared to the rate of the same period of 2013. At the same time, the early grain crops planted areas totaled 2.1 mln ha (6.4% of the forecast), or up 200 thsd ha compared to the same rate of April 14, 2013, declared the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.
In particular, the planting campaign was held in the Southern Federal District (1.2 mln ha, or 19.4% of the forecast), the North Caucasian Federal District (423 thsd ha or 26%), the Central Federal District (1.3 mln ha or 13.2%), the Far Eastern Federal District (101.4 thsd ha or 6.8%), the North-Western Federal District (13.1 thsd ha or 2.6%), the Crimean Federal District (118.9 thsd ha or 40.5%).
As of the reported date, the Russian agrarian had already planted the grain maize throughout the areas of 137.7 thsd ha (5.3% of the plan).
The grain sunflower planted areas totaled 375.3 thsd ha (5.4 of the forecast), up 150 thsd ha compared to the rate of the same period of 2013. The spring rapeseed planted areas reached 16.3 thsd ha (1.5% of the plan).
As of the stated date, in Krasnodar Krai the soybean planted areas reached 7.5 thsd ha (4.4% of the plan).
