As of April 1, Russia planted spring crops throughout 0.8 mln ha – Rosstat
As of April 1, 2014, agricultural organizations of Russia planted spring crops throughout the areas of 761 thsd ha (an increase of 2.4 times compared with the corresponding date of the previous year), reported the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) on April 17.
In particular, the planted areas of spring grains and leguminous crops (excluding maize) totaled 539.6 thsd ha (up 2.6 times compared with April 1, 2013).
The announcement noted that as of the beginning of April, agricultural organizations in 19 subjects of the Russian Federation already started crops planting works.
