Food industry requires 7 bln EUR of investments – Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation
Ukrainian food producers need to invest nearly 7 bln EUR in technical requirement of their enterprises, in order to upgrade own production capacities in accordance with the standards of the European Union, declared Leonid Kozachenko, President of Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation, on April 11.
According to him, only 7% of Ukrainian food processors have the ISO and HACРP certificates required for exports of commodities to the EU. Another 15% of food processors have only one of the mentioned certificates, which limits supplying of their products on the European market.
L.Kozachenko stressed that the business should not expect for any support from the Government in the issue of investments to re-equipment of the industry. Therefore, the food industry should look for other source of funding.
