Ukraine: possible imposition of sun oil export duties to cause losses for agrarians
The losses of Ukrainian agrarians will total 1 bln UAH due to the possible future introduction of the crude sun oil export duties, declared Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation on May 14, 2014.
The experts stated along with the duties' introduction, the oil extraction plants will add the duty's costs to the purchasing prices for sunflower seed. At the same time, the analysts of the Confederation mentioned that the Ukrainian crude and refined oil exports will be stable, owing the foreign market of bottled oil is rather limited for Ukraine (CIS – 47%, Belarus – 27%, the EU – 20%). Thus, in 2013 Ukraine exported 170 thsd tonnes of bottled oil only. Note, that the total exports totaled 3.2 mln tonnes.
