Ukraine to close the Crimean ports for international shipping

Ukraine plans to close the sea ports for international shipping which are located at the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea: Evpatoria, Kerch, Sevastopol, Feodosia, Yalta and Sevastopol. The corresponding decree dd. 16.06.2014 # 255 "On closing of the sea ports", registered in the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine dd. 06.24.2014 #690/25467, enters into force after its official publication, declared the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine on July 7.

The reporting document was adopted by the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dd. 30.04.2014 #578-r "Certain issues on functioning of the sea and river transport", and in accordance with the Procedure for opening and closing of ports, approved by the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dd. 11.07.2013 #495.

As a reminder, in mid-May 2014 Ukraine notified the International Maritime Organization (IMO) on drawing up the decree on closing the Crimean sea ports.
