Ukraine appealed to the EU to increase the quotas for agricultural products supply

Oleksiy Pavlenko, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, had a meeting with Phil Hogan, European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, on the opportunity to increase the quotas for Ukrainian agricultural products supply, reported the press-service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy on January 17.

O.Pavlenko appealed to the Commissioner asking for a possible increase of the quota volumes or even complete cancellation of the quotas for Ukrainian agricultural commodities.

According to him, the Ukrainian party has developed a number of priority laws to ensure the food products quality and harmonization of the Ukrainian legislation to the EU requirements. The Ministry plans to adopt the required laws in the sphere of sanitary and phytosanitary control, to use the tariff quotas and free trade regime between Ukraine and the EU.

The following meeting of the working group "Ukraine-EU Dialog" on agricultural issues will be held in the I quarter of 2015.
