Russia decided not to include Georgia to the list of countries subject to economic counter sanctions, because the economic measures the Georgian government took against Russia are insignificant, declared the press-service of the Government of Russia on August 13.
“Currently, Russia and Georgia have neither intensive relations nor a high trade turnover. Unlike other countries, the measures taken by the Georgian leadership against Russia are insignificant. In this respect, it was decided that there is no need to put this country on the list of countries whose manufacturers are banned from supplying certain types of agricultural products [to Russia]", - the press-service informed.
As a reminder, in late July 2015 Georgia imposed economic sanctions against the Republic of Crimea only, and did not join the limitations against the Russian Federation as a whole.
