The European Union published a proposal to increase the quotas for duty-free supplying of Ukrainian products, including food products, products of the chemical industry, etc., informed the Official Journal of the European Union.

In particular, the document proposed to provide additional quotas to Ukrainian agricultural producers for the supply of corn and flour (650 thsd tonnes), barley and flour (350 thsd tonnes), wheat flour (100 thsd tonnes), groats and processed grains (7.8 thsd tonnes), oats (4 thsd tonnes), as well as honey, tomatoes and grape juice.

In addition, the customs duties for fertilizers will reduce to 0% (except for urea, containing more than 45% of nitrogen on the dry anhydrous product – the customs duties will remain at the level of 3% of the customs value).

In accordance to the EU proposal, the additional quotas and reduced duties shall apply for three years after the entry into force. The measure needs to be put under scrutiny of the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union.

The European Union has done the first step towards the increasing quotas for agricultural producers of Ukraine, and plan to increase the quotas for the supply of Ukrainian agricultural products by 196.95 mln USD in money terms, noted the European Commissioner for Trade, Cecilia Malmström.
