Ukraine: over 91% of winter grain areas were in good and satisfactory condition - Ministry of Agrarian Policy
As of December 28, 2012, the condition of nearly 91.5% of winter grain planted areas in Ukraine (or 7.1 mln ha) was estimated as good and satisfactory, declared the press-service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on December 29.
According to the announcement, 8.6% of the planted areas (or 0.67 mln ha) were classified as weak and thinned.
The condition of winter wheat areas was almost identical to the general estimation of winter grains: from the general areas of the sprouted grain plantings (6.4 mln ha), 91.5% were estimated as good and satisfactory, 8.5% - weak and thinned.
As of December 27, winter grain plantings in Ukraine sprouted throughout 7.78 mln ha (96% of the planted areas), and did not appeared throughout 0.32 mln ha at all.
