Russia: in 2012 the general grain harvest totaled 70.7 mln tonnes – Ministry of Agriculture
In 2012, the general grain production in Russia totaled 70.7 mln tonnes in clean weight, against 94.2 mln tonnes in the previous year, declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, citing data of the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat).
The results of the laboratory tests of soft wheat grain samples throughout Russia, hold by the department, showed that in 2012 the milling wheat grain volumes (1-4 grades) increased by 4.6% compared with 2011, while the current yield of soft wheat reduced compared with the level of 2011.
As a reminder, previously the Ministry forecasted the general grain harvest in Russia at the level of over 75 mln tonnes in bunker weight, or nearly 71 mln tonnes in clean weight.
