Kazakhstan: Aktau port increased grain shipment in 2 times
In 2012 "Ak Bidai Terminal" of the Republican State Enterprise "Aktau International Sea Commercial Port" realized transshipment of 557.655 thsd tonnes of grains (up almost 250 thsd tonnes compared with 2011), including 381.821 thsd tonnes of wheat and 175.834 thsd tonnes of barley, declared Raphael Galyamov, Chairman of the Terminal.
As a reminder, in 2011 the terminal shipped almost 308 thsd tonnes of grains, down 24% compared with 2010 (404 thsd tonnes, including 331.408 thsd tonnes of wheat and 72.425 thsd tonnes of barley).
Last month "Ak Bidai Terminal" shipped 55.191 thsd tonnes of grains, including 41.142 thsd tonnes of wheat and 14.049 thsd tonnes of barley. As in previous months, Iran was the main recipient.
Aktau port has the strategic importance for the general development of the Kazakh economy, because it is the single international seaport of the country.
