Ukraine: condition of 92% of winter crop sprouts is estimated as good and satisfactory – N.Prysyazhnyuk
In Ukraine, the condition of winter crops throughout the areas of 7.1 mln ha (92% of all sprouts) is estimated as good and satisfactory, declared Nikolai Prysyazhnyuk, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, on January 9.
The Minister noted that winter crops throughout 0.7 mln ha (8%) showed weak and thinned condition.
As of the beginning of January, winter crops received sprouts throughout 96% of the general planted areas, informed Nikolai Azarov, Prime Minister of Ukraine, on January 9.
According to him, the areas of weakened winter crops became 3 times less compared with 2011. It is a good result, which allows hoping for the good harvest, said the Head of the Government.
According to the Prime Minister, in the Crimea winter crops sprouts were obtained throughout 66% of the planted areas, in Luhansk oblast - 73%. In Kherson and Odessa oblasts there was observed a significant number of underdeveloped sprouts.
