During 11 months of 2012, Russia exported nearly 15.3 mln tonnes of wheat – Federal Customs Service

In January-November of 2012 the export volumes of wheat and meslin from Russia increased by 18% compared with the same period last year, and totaled 15.293 mln tonnes, declared the Federal Customs Service of Russia January 14.

According to the announcement, in monetary terms the growth totaled 37% - to 4.28 bln USD.

The share of far abroad countries purchased the major volume of the exported Russian wheat (almost 14.8 mln tonnes at the sum of 4.14 bln USD).

Generally, in January-November of 2012 the share of exports of food products and raw materials for its production in the commodity structure of the exports to far abroad countries totaled 2.9% (in January-November of 2011 - 2%). At the same time, the cost volumes of supplies of these products increased by 46.5% compared with January-November of 2011, and physical - up 45.5%. The actual export volumes of food products increased primarily due to the exports of grain crops. In the reporting period the export volume of sunflower seed and oil also significantly increased.

As for the export structure to the CIS countries, in January-November of 2012 the share of exports of food products and raw materials for its production in the commodity structure of the exports to remained at the level of the same period in 2011 and totaled 5.3%. The cost volumes of supplies of these products decreased by 1.0% compared with January-November of 2011. The actual export volumes of food products to the CIS countries decreased by reducing of the export supplies of finished products from cereals, products of the milling industry, prepared products made from meat and fish. However, Russia also increased exports of sunflower seed and oil in the reporting direction.
