Ukraine: export volumes of grain by-products continues growing

According to data of the operative statistics, during the period of July 1, 2012, to January 18, 2013, Ukraine exported over 1.1 mln tonnes of grain by-products, up 2.1 times compared with the same period of 2011/12 MY (528.7 thsd tonnes).

In particular, since the beginning of the season there was observed an increase of the export volumes of Ukrainian wheat flour. Thus, during the period of July- December 2012 Ukraine exported 101.6 thsd tonnes of the product, up 69% compared with 2011 (60.1 thsd tonnes). According to experts of APK-Inform Agency, increasing of the rates of flour exports was caused by some stoppage of wheat grain exports.

According to forecasts of the Agency, in 2012/13 MY the exports of flour from Ukraine may reach 150 thsd tonnes, up 30% compared with the previous season index (115 thsd tonnes). It should also be noted that while maintaining the high rates of flour exports, such forecasted rate may be adjusted upwards.
