Since the beginning of 2012/13 MY Ukraine exported 1.9 mln tonnes of oilseeds - Ministry of Agrarian Policy

Since the beginning of 2012/13 MY, and as of January 21, Ukraine already exported 1.9 mln tonnes of oilseeds, an increase of 26.6% compared with the same date in 2011/12 MY, informed the press-service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

In particular, Ukraine exported 1.1 mln tonnes of rapeseed (against 0.91 mln tonnes in 2011/12 MY), 0.8 mln tonnes of soybeans (0.6 mln tonnes), 75.5 thsd tonnes of sunflower seed (75 thsd tonnes).

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, since the beginning of 2013 Ukraine managed to export 0.32 mln tonnes of oilseeds, against 0.22 mln tonnes in December 2012.

As a reminder, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy forecasted that the exports of oilseeds in 2012/13 MY will increase to the level of 2.7 mln tonnes, as opposed to 2.65 mln tonnes in 2011/12 MY. At the same time, the export volumes of sunflower seed are expected to reach 0.2 mln tonnes, rapeseed - 0.9 mln tonnes, soybeans - 1.6 mln tonnes.
