Ukraine: in the first exchange sales the Agrarian Fund sold 225.3 thsd tonnes of grains

On January 22, at the first open exchange trades of grains from the public intervention fund the Agrarian Fund of Ukraine sold 225.3 thsd tonnes of grains (from the planned volume of 300 thsd tonnes) at the sum of 492 mln UAH, declared the press-service of Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation.

According to the announcement, 4 companies became the buyers of the reporting volume.

The remaining 75 thsd tonnes were not sold, due to the uncomfortable dislocation of the grain volumes at elevators, and / or low-scale shipping capacities of some of them.

The starting price, including VAT, totaled 2300 UAH/t for 1-grade wheat, 2250 UAH/t for 2-grade wheat, 2150 UAH/t for 3-grade wheat.

According to the Director of the Agrarian Fund of Ukraine, the received funds will be immediately deployed for payments on debts of the Fund to elevators for services (75 mln UAH), and the payment on forward purchases of wheat of the harvest-2013 (400 thsd tonnes).
