Russia: Ministry of Agriculture to examine the possible cancellation of the import duties on grains
The specialized committees of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation were instructed to consider the possibility of establishing of the zero rate of import duty on wheat and meslin, rye, barley, oats, maize, informed Alexander Chernogorov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture.
A.Chernogorov also instructed the related departments to clarify information about the stocks of grains in the regions of Russia as of January 1, 2013, after adjusting of the supply and demand balance sheets by agricultural entities of the Russian Federation.
At the same time, Arkady Dvorkovich, Vice Prime Minister of Russia, questioned the urgent need for cancellation of the current 5-percent duty on the import of grains.
