Belarus: vegetable oil production to increase in 2.5 times in 2015
By 2015 Belarus plans to increase vegetable oil and meal (cake) production in 2.5 times in order to satisfy the increased demand of the domestic market in the stated commodities and decrease the sun oil and soybean meal imports. It is provided by the Program of development of production of the oil seeds, fat-and-oil commodities and protein mixed-feed in the Republic in 2012-2015, officially placed on the National legal internet-portal.
Thus by 2015 the Republic plans to reach the veg oil production at the level of 362.7 thsd tonnes and meal – 648.6 thsd tonnes (up 255.6% from 2011). To date Belarus annually consumes 230 thsd tonnes of veg oil, including for food – 174 thsd tonnes.
The country plans to increase production of bottled veg oil to 50 thsd tonnes (up 205% from 2011), mayonnaise – to 36.2 thsd tonnes (105%), margarine commodities to 24.5 thsd tonnes (103%). By 2015 the capacities of the fats and oils refining for food to reach 244.5 thsd tonnes annually, winterization – 92.3 thsd tonnes, deodorization – 240.1 thsd tonnes in order to provide the domestic market with the refind deodorized fat raw-materials for full demand.
In order to improve the competitiveness of the commodities the country plans to improve technical equipping of the oilprocessing and oilproducing organizations, intended for better quality and widening of the range of the producing commodities.
