Russia: maize exports to reach record in 2012/13 MY
According to the official data of the Russian State Statistics Service, in 2012 Russia produced nearly 8 mln tonnes of maize owing the planted areas increase by 19.8% (to 2.1 mln ha) compared to 2011.
In October-December 2012/13 MY Russia exported 833.7 thsd tonnes of grain which is the absolute record compared to the same period of the previous seasons.
According to the estimation of APK-Inform Agency, in 2012/13 MY maize exports potential will reach 2.5 mln tonnes as opposed to 2 mln tonnes in the previous season. Besides if the forecast comes true it will be another one absolute record for the country.
