Ukraine: in 2012 the exports of sunflower oil increased by 33% - N.Prysyazhnyuk
In 2012 Ukraine produced 3.78 mln tonnes of crude vegetable oil, an increase of 18% compared with 2011, declared Nikolai Prysyazhnyuk, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, on February 5.
He also noted that last year Ukraine increased the exports of sunflower oil by 33% compared with 2011 - to 3.6 mln tonnes, and increased the general cost of the exported product by 26%, or more than 800 mln USD.
N.Prysyazhnyuk stressed that in 2012 India (30%), Egypt (10%), the EU (20%), Iran (over 6%) and Turkey (6%) were the main countries-importers of Ukrainian sunflower oil.
Besides, Ukraine is working to expand trading and economic relations with China and other countries. To date Ukraine exports sunflower oil to 90 countries of the world, concluded the Minister.
