In January 2013, Ukraine exported 1.9 mln tonnes of grains - Ministry of Agrarian Policy
In January 2013 Ukraine supplied 1.9 mln tonnes of grains on foreign markets, including 1.5 mln tonnes of maize, 175.5 thsd tonnes of wheat and 142.6 thsd tonnes of barley, declared Nikolai Prysyazhnyuk, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, on February 5.
Also, during the period Ukraine exported nearly 360 tonnes of oilseed, including 144 thsd tonnes of rapeseed and 215.5 thsd tonnes of soybeans.
The head of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy noted that the volume of wheat, delivered on foreign markets in 2012/13 MY, (6.04 million tonnes) corresponds to the agreements between the Ministry and grain traders, which previously signed the Memorandum of cooperation.
According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, in 2012/13 MY Ukraine will export nearly 23.2 mln tonnes of grains.
Since the beginning of the current marketing year, and as of February 3, Ukraine supplied 16.25 mln tonnes of grains on foreign markets, including 7.95 mln tonnes of maize, 6.04 mln tonnes of wheat and 1.98 mln tonnes of barley.
On January 22 the Agrarian Fund of Ukraine sold 225.3 thsd tonnes of wheat at the open exchange trading at the sum of 492 mln UAH.
