Russia: by the beginning of 2013/14 MY grain stocks may fall to the critical level – Ministry of Agriculture
The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia expresses concern about the low level of grain stocks in the country, informed Nikolai Fedorov, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, on February 5.
He noted that taking into account the general resources of grains in the current agricultural year (at the level of 91.3 mln tonnes) and domestic needs, which the Ministry estimated to be 69 mln tonnes (by the end of MY), as well as the export volumes, the forecasted grain stocks in Russia will total nearly 7.7 mln tonnes.
At the same time, N.Fedorov said that the situation with the final grain stocks will become clear later in the season, and depend on the volume of exports and imports.
