Ukraine: changes in the structure of planted areas affected all types of agricultural crops - APK-Inform
During recent 12 years the structure of agricultural crops planted areas in Ukraine faced significant changes, declared Rodion Rybchinskiy, Head of the department of business-projects of APK-Inform Agency, in his report at the conference "AgroResources - 2013: ways of increase of agroindustrial profitability" on February 12.
According to the expert, changes in the structure of planted areas in Ukraine affected all types of agricultural crops, but especially the areas under forage and industrial crops. During recent 12 seasons the areas under wheat in the general crops structure decreased by 7%, and the areas under maize increased by 13%, sunflower seed areas increased by 5%.
The concern of the Government, as well as domestic grain processors, should cause more than twofold decrease of the planted areas under groats crops and rye - from 16% in 2000 to 7% in 2012.
But, apparently, orientation of the country in exports of feed crops completely arranges the authorities of the agricultural sector of the country, said R.Rybchinskiy.
