In 2012/13 MY Ukraine to export 23.2 mln tonnes of grains - Ministry of Agrarian Policy

In 2012/13 MY the volume of grain exports from Ukraine will total 23.2 mln tonnes, the carry-over stocks of grains - 6.9 mln tonnes, declared Leonid Suhomlin, Deputy Director of the department of crop-growing agriculture of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, in his speech at the conference "AgroResources - 2013" in Kiev on February 12.

While speaking about the current condition of winter crops areas in Ukraine, he reminded that in 2012 the planted areas reduced to 8.1 mln ha, against 8.4 mln ha in the previous year.

At the same time, in the current year the share of losses of winter crops in Ukraine also significantly decreased. Thus, in 2012 the general areas of losses totaled 1.28 mln ha, but in the current year it was reduced to 204.2 thsd ha only, said L.Suhomlin.
