Ukraine: selling of wheat in the optimum terms may increase the profitability of its production by over 20% - APK-Inform
Selling of the produced harvest in the optimum terms will allow to Ukrainian agrarians to increase the profitability of wheat production by over 20%. Such conclusion was made in the report "Estimation of the profitability of production of the basic grain and oilseed crops in Ukraine in the context of the agricultural enterprise structures (based on the study)” by Andrei Kupchenko, Analyst of APK-Inform Agency, within frames of the III international conference "AgroResources - 2013" in Kiev on February 12.
He noted that according to the estimations of profitability of the major crops production in Ukraine in 2012, conducted by analysts of APK-Inform Agency on the basis of data received from agricultural producers, the oscillation rate of profitability of wheat production in the first half of the season totaled 24%.
Thus, in the terms of selling of the grain in the beginning of the season at the average price of 1600 UAH/t, the profitability is estimated at 21%, and by mid-January, when the average price increased to 2130 UAH/t, the profitability grew to 45%, taking into account increasing of the cost of storage, said the expert.
He also said that the average profitability of wheat production in the terms of the average selling price in the period was estimated at 31%.
