Ukraine: Government reduced the plan to buy grains to the intervention fund in 2013/14 MY
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the formation volumes of the public intervention fund in 2013/14 MY, and reduced the purchasing plan of grains and leguminous crops by almost 4.7% compared with the current season - to 2.13 mln tonnes, declared Nikolai Prysyazhnyuk, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, on February 20.
He noted that in the current season the intervention fund will purchase 1.851 mln tonnes of wheat, 115 thsd tonnes of rye, 20 thsd tonnes of barley, 40 thsd tonnes of maize, 34.6 thsd tonnes of buckwheat, 22.4 thsd tonnes of oats, 20 thsd tonnes of millet, 26.9 thsd tonnes of peas.
