Ukraine: Crimea planted spring grains throughout 21.7 thsd ha
As of February 22, 2013, agricultural enterprises of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (Ukraine) planted early spring grains throughout the areas of 21.7 thsd ha, declared the press-service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on February 22.
According to the announcement, in particular, in the Crimea spring barley planted areas covered 15.7 thsd ha of the the general announced planted areas of grains, oats - 1.4 thsd ha, peas - 4.2 thsd ha. At the same time, the Ministry noted that Kherson (0.3 thsd ha) and Nikholayev oblasts (0.2 thsd ha) already started the planting campaign of barley.
