Russia: Eurasian Economic Commission to observe the issue of cancellation of the import duty on grains
In the nearest future the proposal to cancel the existing import duty on grains in Russia will be added to the agenda of the Eurasian Economic Commission, announced Andrei Klepach, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, on February 26.
A.Klepach expressed the opinion that the decision may be accepted in March-April of 2013.
As a reminder, previously the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia provided the proposal to the Ministry of Economic Development and the government commission on integration for the further zeroing of the import duty on grains until July 1, 2013. To date the duty totals 5%.
But the Ministry of Agriculture does not exclude the possibility of extending the zero import duty on grains until August 1 of the current year, if the decision-making process to be delayed, said Nikolai Fedorov, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, on February 26.
