Tajikistan: agrarians started planting spring crops
As of February 26, agrarians of Tajikistan planted spring grains throughout the areas of 10.677 thsd ha, including wheat - 7.175 thsd ha, barley - 2.942 thsd ha, declared the press-service of the Ministry of Agriculture.
It is planned that the areas under spring grains in Tajikistan will total 104.534 thsd ha, the general areas under grain crops in 2013 - 304.2 thsd ha.
As a reminder, in 2012 the general grain harvest formed the volume of 1.2 mln tonnes.
In the current year the annual demand for wheat in Tajikistan totals 1.5 mln tonnes, including nearly 70% of imports from Kazakhstan.
