In 2013 Kyrgyzstan plans to harvest 900 thsd tonnes of wheat
According to the forecast of the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, in 2013 Kyrgyzstan plans to produce 900 thsd tonnes of wheat, reported Sardar Abdyshev, National consultant on monitoring of food security of the FAO project in the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to him, the forecast will exceed the index in 2012 by 359.5 thsd tonnes. Kyrgyzstan expects to achieve the growth of general production at the expense of increasing of grain planted areas to the level of 359 thsd ha. Besides, the Ministry of Agriculture expects for increasing of wheat yield from the level of 1.66 t/ha last year to 2.56 t/ha in the current year.
