Ukraine: in 2013/14 MY the possible volume of grain exports to total 32 mln tonnes – Ukrainian Grain Association
In 2013/14 MY Ukraine will be able to supply nearly 32 mln tonnes of grains on foreign markets, an increase of 39% compared with the forecasted export potential in the current marketing year, declared Vladimir Klimenko, President of Ukrainian Grain Association, on February 28.
According to him, the large-scale grain harvest in the current year will allow to achieve such large export volumes from the country.
Winter weather conditions were magnificent, and agrarians will have to re-plant 3-5% of winter crops only, said the President of Ukrainian Grain Association. The harvest results will exceed the previous year indices by 10 mln tonnes.
V.Klimenko also noted that in 2012 Ukraine took the 10th position for production of grains among other countries. At the same time, the country managed to achieve the average world yields.
