Creating a free trade zone between Ukraine and the EU to contribute to increasing of the exports and growth of investments in the agricultural sector – expert
To date there have been already achieved some agreements between Ukraine and the EU on the free trade zone, and their main provisions are being at the stage of initialing. But before making the final decision on the reporting issue, there are observed some positive trends in foreign trade between Ukraine and the EU countries. During the conference Grain Forum -2013 Tamara Ostashko, expert of the Agrarian markets development institute (AMDI), will report on the issue "Actual issues of the foreign economic relations of Ukraine with other countries in the field of trading of agricultural commodities". In particular, the expert noted that in 2012 the volume of exports from Ukraine to the EU countries increased to 4.4 mln USD, against 3.2 mln in 2011. At the same time, directly agricultural commodities provided significant contribution to increasing of the reporting indicator.
Besides, T.Ostashko noted that in 2012 direct foreign investments in the agriculture of Ukraine totaled nearly 700 mln USD, including nearly 600 mln USD from the EU countries.
