In the coming years wheat export volumes from Russia and the USA to come to the similar level – expert
In the coming years Russia and the USA will export approximately equal volumes of wheat, forecasted Holly S. Higgins, Minister-Counselor for Agricultural Affairs of the US Embassy, on March 1.
She noted that, according to the Federal Customs Service of Russia, in 2012 Russia increased the exports of wheat and meslin by 5.6% compared with the previous year - to 16.03 mln tonnes.
However, according to H.Higgins, wheat exports from the USA is currently somewhat limited, in particular, by the strong domestic demand in the terms of falling harvest volumes and increased supplies of the grain from the Black Sea region.
She also believes that in the medium-term prospect the prices for grains and livestock products on the world market will remain relatively high.
