Russia: in 2012/13 MY soybean imports to reach 0.8 mln tonnes
In January 2013 the soybean imports to Russia totaled 30.7 thsd tonnes, down 41% compared with December 2012 index. Almost all soybean volumes were imported from Ukraine.
During September-January Ukraine imported 256.4 thsd tonnes of soybeans. Taking into account the current rates of the oilseed imports, analysts of APK-Inform Agency estimated the general forecast of the indicator in 2012/13 MY at 0.8 mln tonnes. Thus, in February-August of 2012/13 MY the import volumes of soybeans are expected to reach 544 thsd tonnes.
