Russia: grain export volume reached 13.9 mln tonnes – Ministry of Agriculture
As of March 6, 2013, since the beginning of the season (July 1, 2012) the volume of grain exports from Russia totaled 13.903 mln tonnes, a decrease of 32.4% compared with the same period of 2011/12 MY, declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation on March 12 with a reference to the operative data of the Federal Customs Service.
According to the announcement, in the period of March 1-6, 2013, the Russian grain exports totaled 63 thsd tonnes, including 19 thsd tonnes of wheat. Maize formed the main share of the imports in the reporting period - 43 thsd tonnes.
As a reminder, according to the forecast of the Ministry of Agriculture, in 2012/13 MY Russia will export nearly 14.8 mln tonnes of grains.
