In 2012 Ukraine exported wheat and maize to South Africa at the general sum of 100.5 mln USD, while the general trade turnover between the countries totaled 171.2 mln USD, declared Nikolai Prysyazhnyuk, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, on March 12.
The Minister also noted that to date Ukraine is interested in cooperation with South Africa. In particular, the Ukrainian party is going to offer to start shipping poultry products, sunflower oil and sugar on the market of South Africa. Besides, in the near future both countries plan to deepen cooperation in development of the agricultural market infrastructure, poultry farming, usage of advanced technologies for natural fertilizers production.
