Ukraine has sufficient grain volumes for provision of the food security - Ministry of Agrarian Policy
As of the beginning of March, 2013, the stocks of grains in Ukraine totaled 22 mln tonnes, with the domestic consumption for March-June period at the level of nearly 9.7 mln tonnes, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on March 12.
In particular, as of the beginning of March the stocks included 6.5 mln tonnes of wheat, 9.5 mln tonnes of maize and 4.4 mln tonnes of barley.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy continues carrying out the systematic monitoring of the carry-over stocks of grains on the domestic market. Since the beginning of the current marketing year, and as of March 11, Ukraine supplied 18.2 mln tonnes of grains on foreign markets, up 5 mln tonnes compared with the same period in 2011/2012 MY.
