In the following 50 years Ukraine may become a tropical country – N.Kulbida

In the following 50 years Ukraine may become a tropical country, which can bring huge losses to the economy, declared Nikolai Kulbida, Head of the Hydrometeorological Center of Ukraine, on March 6.

According to him, the air temperature, which is observed during the period of the year, in any case is higher than the standard one (up 2-4 degrees). All months were rather warm, except for some short periods of cold weather, which lasted for nearly 10 days.

According to the Director of the Hydrometeorological Center, the country will continue facing sharp changes of the temperature from significant warming to significant cooling.

If in the following 50 years Ukraine continues the current rates of raising the temperature regime, the country will soon become a tropical place. And if the industry branches: agriculture, energy, transportation, are not be adapted to the changes that have already occurred, happen and will happen..., the losses from such climate changes will be huge, said N.Kulbida.
