Russia: Ministry of Agriculture plans to produce at least 40 mln tonnes of wheat
The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation sets the task to produce 40 mln tonnes of wheat in the current year, against 37.72 mln tonnes in 2012, declared Nikolai Fedorov, Head of the Ministry.
According to him, the minimum possible harvest will total 40 mln tonnes, and the maximum - 50 mln tonnes.
According to estimation of the Ministry of Agriculture, the general harvest of grains in the current year will reach 95 mln tonnes, against 70.9 mln tonnes in the previous year.
Also, the volumes of grains in the intervention fund will be increased to 5 mln tonnes.
