Ukraine: Ministry of Agrarian Policy increased the forecast of grain exports in 2012/13 MY
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food increased the forecast of grain exports from Ukraine in the current season to 24.4 mln tonnes, declared Nikolai Prysyazhnyuk, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, on March 21.
Mainly, the increase occurred at the expense of increasing of the forecast of maize exports by 3.6 mln tonnes, said the Minister.
In particular, in the current marketing year the Ministry estimated the export potential of maize at the level of 14 mln tonnes, wheat - 6.4 mln tonnes, barley - 3.3 mln tonnes, rye and other grain crops - nearly 640 thsd tonnes.
N.Prysyazhnyuk also noted that since the beginning of the season, and as of March 19, the general volume of grain exports from Ukraine already exceeded 19 mln tonnes.
Since the beginning of March, Ukraine already exported 1 mln tonnes of grains. Generally, since the beginning of 2012/13 MY the country exported 6.2 mln tonnes of wheat, 2 mln tonnes of barley and 10 mln tonnes of maize, explained N.Prysyazhnyuk.
