In the current year the general grain harvest in Belarus is expected to reach 2012 level, declared Mikhail Rusiy, Vice Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, on July 8.
Leonid Zayats, Minister of Agriculture and Food, explained that due to the prolonged winter period, the yield of winter crops in some regions will become lower than expected, at the same time, the condition of spring crops was observed as quite good. According to him, the harvest will reach the level of 9 mln tonnes.
It was also noted that the yield of rapeseed in the current year became significantly higher compared with the last year indices.
