As of August 1, Russia harvested 27.1 mln tonnes of grains – Rosstat
As of August 1, 2013, the general grain production in Russia totaled 27.1 mln tonnes in clean weight, an increase of 16.2% compared with the same date in 2012. The average yield totaled 2.99 t/ha, against 2.32 t/ha on the same date last year, announced the Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation (Rosstat) on August 13.
Generally, the average grain yield in Russia became higher compared with the previous year. In Krasnodar Krai the yield totaled 5.31 t/ha (4.13 t/ha in the previous year), in Stavropol Krai – 3.19 t/ha (2.41 t/ha), in the Republic of Tatarstan – 1.72 t/ha (2.01 t/ha), in Rostov oblast – 2.35 t/ha (2.4 t/ha), in Belgorod oblast – 3.74 t/ha (3.18 t/ha), etc., the report said.
As of the reporting date, wheat production totaled 21.8 mln tonnes (up 27.1% compared with August 1, 2012) with the average yield of 3.24 t/ha (2.52 t/ha).
