Ukraine switched from the imports of crude palm oil to its by-products
According to analysts of APK-Inform Agency, during recent 2 years Ukraine will switch from import purchases of crude palm oil to its by-products, such as refined palm oil, palm olein and stearin.
For example, in 2012 Ukraine imported only 6 thsd tonnes of crude palm oil, against 106 thsd tonnes in the previous year. Thus, the share of the reporting commodities in the general imports dropped to 3%, against 56% in the previous year. During the first six months of the current year, Ukraine did not imported crude palm oil at all.
At the same time, in 2012 the imports of by-products of crude palm oil significantly increased, and totaled 165 thsd tonnes, as opposed to 83 thsd tonnes in the previous year. Besides, in the first half year of 2013 the foreign supplies of the products to Ukraine reached 148 thsd tonnes.
