SovEcon remained the forecast of maize production in Russia at 10 mln tonnes
The analytical center SovEcon still kept the optimistic forecast of maize production in Russia in 2013/14 MY, declared Andrei Sizov, Executive Director of the center SovEcon, on September 25 at the international conference "Russian Grain Week: Trade & Trends".
At the same time, to date the process of maize harvesting works in the current weather conditions in Russia causes quite a big concern, he added.
While speaking on the prospects of the Russian barley harvest, the expert said that to date SovEcon forecasts the grain production at 15 mln tonnes.
As a reminder, last season maize production volumes in Russia totaled 8.213 mln tonnes, barley – 13.952 mln tonnes.
