In January-October Russia reduced grain exports to 14 mln tonnes - Rosstat
In January-October period of 2013 the volume of grain exports from Russia totaled 14.044 mln tonnes, a decrease of 18.7% compared with the same period of 2012, declared the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) on December 20.
In particular, in the reporting period the export volume of wheat and meslin totaled 10.52 mln tonnes, down 26.5% compared with January-October last year. Also, during the first 10 months Russia significantly reduced the exports of barley - down 32.6%, to 2.005 mln tonnes; rice - down 56.5%, to 111 thsd tonnes; maize - down 22%, to 1.329 mln tonnes; wheat and wheat-rye flour - down 44.9%, to 79.3 thsd tonnes; and sunflower seed - down 87.7%, to 32.8 thsd tonnes.
