Ukraine supplied over quarter of the November grain exports to Asia
In November 2013 Ukraine realized the record grain exports, which totaled 4 mln tonnes. Ukraine supplied nearly 26% of the reporting volumes to the countries of Southern (1%), Eastern (21%) and Southeast Asia (4%). It should be noted that during the same period last season, the share of grain shipments to the reporting region totaled less than 0.2%.
In terms of the increasing of grain exports to Asian countries, thee was observed reduction of the export share to the EU and North Africa. So, in November 2012 Ukraine exported 1.3 mln tonnes of grains to the the EU-28 countries, or nearly 43% of the monthly export volumes, and 1 mln tonnes to the North Africa countries, or 32%. In November 2013 the exports to each of the reporting regions totaled 1.1 mln tonnes, or 28% of the export structure in the reporting month, respectively.
Expansion of selling markets is one of the ways to realize the growing export potential of the grain market of Ukraine. According to analysts of APK-Inform Agency, in 2013/14 MY Ukraine may export 30.4 mln tonnes of grains.
